Since Destiny: Rise of Iron ushers in Year 3 for the game, it’s only appropriate that Bungie tweak every weapon class within its game. In some cases that means improving the weapon type for the better – i.e. making it more useful in PvE or PvP – but in others it means taking the weapon class’ viability down a notch. Based on a new impressive gameplay video from clan The Legend Himself, two players, Epicookiez and scSlayerage, worked together expertly to drop Aksis in under 15 minutes. Nevertheless, while most of Destiny’s beta left a good impression, there was one element that did not: the Ghost. Voiced by Peter Dinklage, The Ghost in Destiny was supposed to be a consistent companion that provided backstory and exposition at every turn. However, Dinklage’s flat delivery had many feeling that either the Game of Thrones was phoning it in or that Bungie simply didn’t know how to personify Ghost....

That’s a huge blow to veteran players, who’ve been playing Destiny 2 since the very beginning. Obviously, the idea is to reinvigorate the game with new loot throughout the coming year of content, but to many players, that’s not enough. This is the unfortunate reality of sunsetting weapons/armor in Destiny 2’s new sandbox, as a lot of players’ favorite legendary gear is becoming irrelevant and players will, in many cases, need to start fresh....
In this week’s Bungie Weekly Update, Destiny 2 Sandbox Tester Ryan Hammond explains how the resistances for masterwork armor work. While players knew that armor carries elemental resistances based on its masterwork, Hammond has now given them the exact numbers. According to Hammond, for each tier of masterwork on each piece of armor players will gain 1% damage resistance against that armor. So a chest piece with a tier 3 void masterwork will mitigate 1% of void damage from incoming AI combatants....
Recently, Destiny 2 introduced weapon sunsetting, where the effectiveness of older gear will gradually fade over the years. Outside of the initial confusion of figuring out what weapons were going to max out their power, some players were not sure whether this sunsetting would affect armor. Joined by fellow Destiny 2 streamer Vendetta, the two managed to make it all the way to Taniks and defeat the new raid boss with their own new strategy for keeping the party under six players. However, in this case, a change to the regular strategies has allowed to sidestep some of the previously necessary items and abilities, which has let Gladd and Vendetta finish the raid while both playing as Hunters....
New Light starts with all Destiny 2 content up through Year 1. That’s Destiny 2’s Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions and their stories and quests. Regarding Destiny 2’s Year 2 content, which includes the Forsaken expansion and its Annual Pass, content will be much more limited. Players can land on and explore planetary locations like Tangled Shore and Dreaming City, they’ll have access to the Gambit matchmaking mode, and both Strikes and the Crucible will be open....
Destiny veterans should recognize the Warsat that appears on Hellas Basin, but since the first game didn’t feature heroic public events there is some mystery involving how to trigger the harder challenge. Luckily, we have all the details. Heroic Warsat Public Event To trigger the Heroic Warsat, players need to destroy the three Shriekers that appear around the fallen Golden Age tech. Each Shrieker is “connected” to an elite Hive enemy that will appear at certain intervals during the public event....
However, Destiny 2 also has many characters like Mara Sov that are just as detailed and impactful on the game’s narrative even though many players may not know as much about them. Mara Sov has come and gone throughout the ever-expanding story of Destiny 2, but she has most recently reappeared in Destiny 2’s new Season of the Lost. With how infrequently Mara has appeared throughout the game, many players do not know much about her history or role despite her being one of the more interesting characters in Destiny 2’s narrative....
So now players will not have the risk to fail in the edge case scenarios of the game; thanks to the ammos bug fix. As for the weapons, with this update, Bungie has reversed the stats back to the initial value. The 1.1.2 update hints that Xur features will now see reduced data mining. However, a Reddit thread pointed out that the update now confirms the Xur tipster, Megamanexe 4....

Alongside the Moon, the Hive are once again becoming the featured antagonists in this expansion. Since the last time players visited, the Hive have continued to change the landscape as well as build a massive fortress, prominently seen in the box art for the expansion. How to Get the Ruinous Effigy Catalyst In order to fully take advantage of the Ruinous Effigy, though, Destiny 2 players will need the exotic catalyst for the trace rifle. To get the Ruinous Effigy exotic catalyst, players need only kill an enemy with the weapon and then pick up the Transmutation sphere that forms. It’s similar to the bloom orbs that Destiny 2 players use to turn the Contact Event Heroic, only it has a void aura and can actually be used as a weapon....

Destiny 2’s Community Manager Dylan “dmg” Gafner has addressed the situation on behalf of the game’s security team, and he warns players that any cheating software with download counts as high as the ones mentioned aren’t real. In reality, the software infects whatever system using it with incredibly aggressive malware. As promised, today Bungie released a new cinematic trailer for Destiny 2: Forsaken. Bungie has a long history of epic trailers – who can forget the live action Halo promos – and this one is no different.
