While the vault has been a contentious topic among fans, it has a clear goal: making space for new content while keeping relevant pieces in the game. With Destiny 2 being a live-service game, it’s in a constant state of evolution, but the large stories presented to players often bring entirely new locations, unique enemies, and a whole lot of assets that developers have to worry about. The vault has made these things more manageable, and with how much Savathun’s Hive looks to be bringing in The Witch Queen, it makes sense that Destiny 2 wants to go into Year 5 with less clutter....

The character boost will be similar to Destiny 1’s character boosting item, Spark of Light, but there is a key difference. The character boost in Forsaken will not be an item in players’ inventory like Spark of Light was, but it will be an option right on the character selection screen when players boot up Forsaken this September. There’s another key difference too. Bungie’s project lead Scott Taylor told Mashable that this character boost will be better than Spark of Light in that it won’t just boost a character’s level but will also allow them bypass the campaign and content from Year 1, allowing the instant access to everything new Forsaken has to offer and putting them “at the point of the game where you’d be starting the Forsaken campaign....

In order to do this, players will be venturing into newly revealed Seraph content, from bunkers, Tower events, and legendary lost sectors. For now, only the European Dead Zone bunker has opened, with the ones on Io and Moon to follow later this season. Through these activities and bounties, players can earn new resources to purchase bunker upgrades that provide bonuses and perks similar to the Obelisks from Season of Dawn....

The new subclasses are the first to be introduced to Destiny 2 since its 2017 release, as is the Element they’re based around. While there are many Elemental Energy weapons in Destiny 2 for the existing Elements, there’s only one for Stasis so far. It’s called Salvation’s Grip, and it’s a Grenade Launcher that can create Stasis crystals. Unlocking Salvation’s Grip isn’t easy, and requires players to go down a long and difficult quest chain....

In Season of the Splicer, Destiny 2 players have been working with the Kell of House Light and Eliksni Splicer, Mithrax, to stop the Endless Night that has been affecting the Last City. By helping Mithrax enough and completing the 10 Triumphs, players will earn the “Splicer” title with the Seal. During the Nightfall Strike, there’s a section where players must pass through a series of blue light pulses that are scattered around the Nexus in order to progress. On a regular Destiny 2 Strike, this should pose no problem, but players are finding that the task isn’t so easy when the diffiulty is turned up. Just like we noted last week, there are still severe issues with the Prestige Nightfall Strike where the final area does not spawn pulses for the players to trigger....

The expansion, which was due out September 17th, will now see its release on October 1st. It’s the first major expansion to Destiny 2 since Bungie broke away from Activition earlier this year. Alongside the announcement of the delay, Bungie also announced a new raid release date, a new Iron Banner, and an extension the Moments of Triumph event. While it is possible that some weapons may become more or less popular with each passing weekend of Trials of Osiris, especially as players potentially discover hidden gems during the season or patches nerf or buff certain (albeit those kinds of balance changes are rarer outside of the start of the season), but at the start of Season of the Worthy, some clear weapons have established themselves as the best in Destiny 2....

So, what was used most in this week’s Trials of Osiris? According to DestinyTrialsReport.com, a fan site that uses Destiny’s API to aggregate the data of all the players participating in Trials of Osiris, Trials of Osiris saw a huge uptick in sidearm kills. This is primarily due to the change in how Special ammo works, especially in the Elimination gametype, which leaves all players without Special ammo on spawn in every round after the first....

However, those new Destiny players will enter The Taken King at a significant disadvantage. Because they have not contributed to the 2 billion+ total play hours of Destiny, these newbies will need to comb through a lot of vanilla content before they reach the new stuff. Or, they can skip right to the front of the line with a new one-time boost. Word of this level boost comes courtesy of Activision, who wanted to share a few extra details about getting newcomers up to speed....

With that being the case, Bungie has fortunately provided Destiny fans with the recommended Light Level of 360 that Guardians should have before attempting to take on Rise of Iron’s raid when it drops later this week. Since Wrath of the Machine’s release date is scheduled for this Friday, September 23, players ought to have plenty of time in between now and then to hit the suggested number. Of course, Bungie doesn’t plan on limiting Destiny fans to a Light Level of 360 with the launch of Rise of Iron....

There are 10 Triumphs that players need to complete in order to unlock the Splicer title in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer. However, only 8 of them are visible in the game’s UI. The final two Triumphs are secret, and won’t be revealed until players complete them. Followers of the series should be no strangers to the concept, but nonetheless, “Raid Races” are essentially Bungie’s way of rewarding the Destiny 2 fireteam that completes the raid first. Guardians hoping to partake in the next one should apparently be aiming for Power Level 1230 if they want to be as strong as possible. Previously, Bungie pushed back the Trials of Osiris from its planned return during the Beyond Light expansion launch weekend, setting a new start date for today, November 27. Unfortunately, Bungie has decided to cancel the Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris as soon as it was meant to start, due to a “recently discovered issue.” Bungie says that it is looking into the problem and once it’s resolved, it will determine when the Trials of Osiris can return....

This SMG was datamined a few days ago, but Bungie officially confirmed its Origin Trait in today’s TWAB, which also discussed all the various changes made to the associated event. In the same TWAB, Bungie also revealed what the new Ritual Weapon for Destiny 2 will be in Season 17 and what players can expect in terms of both old and new loot coming from the playlist activities.
