Destiny 2: Forsaken is ready to deliver all new weapons and gear to players this fall, including a new bow weapon type as well as introduce random weapon rolls, but those old favorites will still remain relevant. This will likely be through the use of Infusion that Year 1 weapons and armor can continue to be brought along in power level. During the Armor 2.0 reveal stream that developer Bungie held earlier this week, some keen-eyed fans caught sight of an extra Power bonus listed on one of the tool-tips in the character screen of the game showing an additional “+1 bonus” to the player’s Power level. While this mechanic was not explained on stream, Destiny 2 franchise director Luke Smith went into detail about exactly how it all works....

Start the Taken Blight Public Event on Io and Kill the Taken Champion The first step in this tedious quest is to find a Taken Blight public event in the Lost Oasis on Io. Players will want to be around 385 Power Level since the enemies in this mission will be 380. Running the Prestige Raids to get the 400 Power weapons will certainly help with this mission. Likewise, bring a full fireteam as players will need all the help they can get during the mission....

Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes armor will work like this: players will be able to pick up green, Uncommon versions of the armor (called Scorched) and then by grinding out certain tasks, they can upgrade the armor to Rare (Rekindled) and then by doing more, it can finally be upgraded to level 400 Legendary armor (Resplendent). As expected, the tasks required to upgrade to each new tier grow harder (or more grindy) the higher the class of the item....

For many though, the biggest piece to this season is the new PvE activity known as the Managerie. Giving players the opportunity to explore previously unseen sections of the Leviathan ship, the six person team has to defend against waves of enemies. However, unlike traditional horde modes, the Menagerie also adds in a variety of challenges to overcome while fighting off enemies. At the end of the event, Destiny 2 players can use an item called the Chalice of Opulence to earn specific rewards....

This may come as a bit of a surprise to those who remember Bungie touting the sequel as bigger and better. According to the guide, there will be a total of 17 main story missions in Destiny 2. This is three less than the original Destiny, which had 20 missions. Perhaps Bungie was referring to the size of explorable worlds, which are certainly larger in scale. Exotics are among the most distinctive drops in Destiny 2, with some of them being exclusive items only obtainable through Raids or other activities. The Exotics are interesting because they can alter the way Destiny 2 is played, with weapons changing their behavior from others in their categories and armor pieces granting special abilities based on class. Not all Exotics are good however, and there are several bad ones that some may even define as useless - not worth using over others....

Both the teams bagged two points each for the second draw of the HIL. The Waveriders now lead the table with 19 points while the Wizards remain in third spot with 15 points. The well-traveled shooting guard has reinvented himself in Phoenix as a multi-facetted scoring threat. Unfortunately, as it turns out the Iron Banner isn’t very different from the regular Crucible. They are still some advantages to having higher-level gear, but as we’ve seen, even lower level players can survive, and even dominate, online.
