For the sake of the Destiny 2 community, Reddit user BoxOfRingsAndNails tested the efficiency of the Heavy Ammo Finder perk by equipping it, killing hundreds of enemies, then recording the results. The tests involved cruising around the EDZ, killing the same groups of Vandals and Dregs, making sure to keep heavy ammo reserves depleted and using all that drop. The goal was to see if equipping more than one Heavy Ammo Finder perk would make a significant difference.

After four tests, they found that there was absolutely no advantage to equipping more than one Heavy Ammo Finder. In fact, the more they equipped, the less ammo that dropped. Stacking actually appears to impede them more than help, which is a bit of a bummer. In truth, Guardians might as well not bother with the perk at all. Of course, other players might see slightly different results, but these tests appear conclusive. For a closer look at the test results, check out the Reddit post right here.

In other Destiny 2 news, the Festival of the Lost is returning to the game next week. As is tradition, the Tower will be decked out in holiday decorations and mask collecting will play a major role in the event. New Triumphs will be available, and Amanda Holliday will offer daily bounties that award Fragmented Souls. These can be used to purchase masks and a new legendary auto rifle.

Guardians will also be able to participate in an activity that have them avenging a fallen friend. This quest line will continue through October 30, and new rewards will be available to earn each week.

Another anticipated part of the event is the all-new Haunted Forest, a PvE mode that tasks players with navigating a creepy version of the Infinite Forest, killing all manner of nightmarish creatures. Guardians will have 15 minutes, either solo or with a fireteam, to delve as far as they can within the forest. Different prizes will be awarded depending on how far they get.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
