Earlier today, a lot more information relating to Destiny 2’s Crimson Days leaked on the game’s official subreddit, which resulted in Cozmo23 stepping forward to acknowledge that the rumors were indeed true in regards to the event’s return. However, the Bungie Community Manager stopped short at confirming what information in the leak is accurate, as he instead stated that the studio will openly discuss Crimson Days soon.
For those Destiny 2 fans who may not be familiar with Crimson Days, it is an event themed around Valentine’s Day that centers on doubles playlists. In the previous game, the event included a new PvP playlist dubbed Crimson Doubles that pit two teams of two against one another. If a teammate went down in combat during the PvP activity, then the other player would get a significant buff to movement speed, handling, reload, and more.
With Crimson Days now confirmed for Destiny 2, one can only hope that the event’s main attraction won’t end up being the Eververse and microtransaction engrams like in The Dawning. After all, many players consider the sequel’s first winter event to be more than enough evidence of Bungie intentionally ignoring the community’s reactions to live events built around microtransactions and cosmetics. That said, though, we will have to wait until the developer delivers Destiny 2’s first official blog post of 2018 tomorrow to learn what’s to come in Crimson Days.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
